Luxury perfume boutique | Business Ideas
This business idea came when I have realized that an important client of mine did not have a place to buy a good perfume. Of course there are the generalist stores that sell perfumes, but I am talking about high – end perfumes.
If your country has a high economic growth and the population likes luxury (I mean that if they have the money to buy luxury items) I would suggest that you start a perfume boutique, a luxury perfume boutique.
A high –end perfume could cost from 300 $ to a couple of thousand dollars depending on the brand and on the edition (limited edition are more expensive).
The investment in such a boutique could start from 90.000 $ (70.000 euro) and could go up to 260.000 $ (200.000 euro) depending on the location, the design of the boutique and how many square meters it has. Your turnover will be around 200.000 – 500.000 in your first year. Don’t worry about the profit; it will come very quick because the profit margin is very good in luxury commerce.

My internet research brought me to your post. I am considering opening a luxury perfume shop in my area as there are none in this metropolitan area. I have some unique and creative ideas, but because they are not the norm around here, I am concerned that the affluent buying community will not embrace it. I know location is of the utmost importance and I have narrowed the location down to 3 very different possible locations. Will I need an experienced consultant to research the market and give me advice as to whether or not this could be successful? Where do I find someone with experience in perfume boutique business planning targeting a market of 60% locals and 40% US domestic and international tourists?
I don`t think you will need a consultant, you could hire a company to make the market research for you an see where you stand, and make your own decicion.
If you are not sure about the business succes, i would sugest you start up with just a couple perfumes and in general sell perfumes with a pre order.
In this line of business it is good to know a lot of wealthy people, that is why sometimes it is good to have an influent partner for just a year or two until the business will grow, after that you could buy his share of the business.
Good luck! and keep me posted with the updates
